CapFast™ Technology Licensing/OEM Opportunities
Background
Phase Three Logic, now a division of Veicon Technology, Inc., was founded in Oregon, June 1986 as a spin-off from Metheus/Computervision, Inc. a $10 Million joint venture between Metheus Corporation in Hillsboro, Oregon and Computervision Corporation in Bedford, Massachusetts. Since the beginning of the business, Phase Three Logic has focused its efforts on its advanced, world-class, hierarchical schematic design and interface tools.

In the past twelve years, Phase Three Logic has established business relationships with such leading companies as
  • Intergraph Corp.
  • Analogy, Inc.
  • Intermetrics, Inc.
  • Cirrus Logic, Inc
  • Computervision Corp.
  • ALPS Electric Co.
  • Sharp Electronics, Inc.
  • Compact Software, Inc (now Ansoft)
  • CETIA

These relationships are in addition to its sales of end-user products.
Products
Phase Three Logic's CapFast products run on PC (Windows) as well as leading UNIX workstations (Sun, HP). It also supports X Windows to broaden its uses in a networked environment. In addition to a flexible hierarchical schematic design package, CapFast includes a variety of interface tools for PCB, analog and digital simulators, and VHDL code generation. The extensive symbol library is also part of the CapFast product.

The Phase Three Logic family of tools also contains a Programmable Netlist Library (PNL), a high level "C" language library, used for rapid development of custom interfaces. The in-house custom developed EDIF 200 tools although tailored for the Mentor Graphics schematic design environment, also work with other popular CAE environments. The EDIF package contains four technologies that support reading and writing of both netlists and schematics.
Technology
It is estimated that Phase Three Logic has invested in excess of $10 Million for the development of these tools in the past eight years. This figure excludes the initial investment made by Metheus and Computervision prior to Phase Three Logic's founding in 1986, which is well in excess of an additional $6 Million.
Licensing
Phase Three Logic technologies are available for non-exclusive licensing to companies interested in CapFast for internal use, or wishing to use the technologies to enhance their product line. The core technologies are available at a fraction of the cost of new development and allow tool designers to focus on adding value rather than "re-inventing the wheel".
Support
Phase Three Logic's technical staff will be available to answer technical questions during the initial phase of the technology transfer to help licensees shorten their learning time.
